pre care instructions

  • Do not work out 24 hours before procedure.

  • NO alcohol or caffeine 48 hours before procedure (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!).

  • Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure.

  • Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc), “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements 48 hours prior to procedure.

  • Discontinue Retin-A at least 2-4 weeks prior

  • Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, eye, cheeks, and lip area should be avoided 1 month prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables.

  • Avoid Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion or facials for 4-weeks prior procedure.

  • Exfoliate lips 3-5 days prior to appointment

  • If prone to cold sores please start cold sore medication 1 week prior


aftercare instructions

• Drink through a straw for the first 5 days
• Apply a cold compress and take Advil to help with swelling and soreness
• Do not pick, rub, scratch, or use anything abrasive on the lips (flaking and scabbing are normal)
• No sun exposure, saunas, swimming, or heavy sweating for 5-7 days
• Make sure to wait up to 6 weeks for complete healing
• Cold sore breakouts can possibly happen

SAME DAY
Gently wipe lips w/damp cotton rounds every hour for 4/6 hours to remove any lymph. Then start applying ointment
DAY 1-5
Apply layer of ointment w/lip applicator Keeps lips extremely moisturized.
After every meal gently rinse and clean lips with water. (Pat dry) reapply ointment.
